How to Remove the Ignition Control Module in a Chevy S10

    • 1). Raise the front of the truck and support it on jack stands. Remove the passenger side tire and wheel assembly using the lug wrench. Lift the rubber splashguard to gain access to the coil pack and module.

    • 2). Remove the spark plug wires from the coils, marking their position for future reference in re-assembly. Remove the electrical plug from the ignition control module.

    • 3). Remove the bolts in the ignition control module-bracket that secure it to the block using a socket. Remove the coil pack and module from the vehicle.

    • 4). Remove the screws holding the coils to the ignition control module using a socket. Lift the coils off the module just enough to disconnect the two wires from the module to the coils located underneath each coil.

    • 5). Remove the mounting bracket from the ignition control module using a socket and remove the module.
