How to Remove a Blower Motor From a Ford E-150 Van
- 1). Raise the hood and locate the heater blower motor and securing bolts, rubber vent tube and electrical connector, near the firewall.
- 2). Disconnect the electrical connector at the blower motor harness by squeezing the tab and pulling the plug out of the motor. Disconnect the rubber cooling hose from the motor to the housing. This hose picks up air pressure from in front of the fan and directs it back to the motor to keep the armature cool.
- 3). Remove the securing screws around the outside of the motor, using the appropriate 1/4-inch drive socket and a ratchet. Pull the motor complete with fan (better known as a squirrel cage), carefully out of the heater housing.
- 4). Remove the spring clip from the top of the motor drive shaft using a pair of pliers. Lift the squirrel cage off the motor shaft.
