How to Replace the Headlight on a Chevy Equinox
- 1). Open your hood and use a pair of pliers to remove the fasteners from the upper part of the grill. There are eight fasteners in all.
- 2). Slide the front grill away from the Equinox far enough to access the top of the headlight casing. Remove the three bolts (10mm) from the headlight casing bracket. Lift the casing up and over the grill.
- 3). Depress the tab on the connection attached to the back of the headlight casing. Pull the connection out to unhook it. Turn the bulb ring counterclockwise to release it, and then pull it straight away from the headlight housing. Pull the old bulb off and discard it.
- 4). Insert the new bulb into the ring socket, and then insert it into the back of the headlight casing; turn it clockwise to line up the notches. Reconnect the connection.
- 5). Remount the headlight casing and tighten the three bolts. Push the front grill assembly back in place. Replace the fasteners to finish.
