How to Replace an Acura TL Headlight
- 1). Turn off the Acura TL and wait for the headlights to cool if they have been running for a while. Otherwise, prop open the hood.
- 2). Remove the black bulkhead that covers the headlight assemblies by popping off the retaining clips using your flat head screwdriver.
- 3). Insert the Torx wrench No. 20 into the black, plastic cover on the back of the headlight, twist and pull the cover from the assembly.
- 4). Hold onto the wiring harness that is attached to the socket and turn it counterclockwise to pull it out.
- 5). Push in the bottom metal retaining clip to free the bulb and pull it out. Insert the new bulb, taking care not to touch the glass with your fingers, which can reduce the lifespan of the bulb, remount the metal clip, plug back in the wiring harness and the black, plastic cove, and mount the bulkhead back on.
