How to Disconnect the Fuel Line From a Fuel Tank
- 1). Place the drain container under the fuel line and fuel tank to catch any fuel that may leak out while you are working. Locate the fuel tank on the engine. The fuel tank will have a cap on the top with the name of the fuel stamped on the top of the cap.
- 2). Use the screwdriver to unscrew the metal retaining clamp that is securing the fuel line to the fuel tank.
- 3). Squeeze the metal clamp with the pliers on the release points on the clamp. The release points will be the small metal tabs at each end of the retaining clamp.
- 4). Pull down on the fuel line, pulling it away from the fuel tank.
