How to Replace an air Filter in a Ford Mustang
- 1). Turn off the car and pop open the hood. Prop the hood up with the metal post found on the side of the car frame.
- 2). Locate the air filter in the front corner on the driver's side of the car. Look for a black box that has a raised lid with a tube exiting from it.
- 3). Open the air filter housing on the Ford Mustang by undoing the clips. Take off the lid and set it aside.
- 4). Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Throw the old filter in the trash. Clean out any leaves or other debris from the box.
- 5). Replace the old filter with a K&N number K33332298 filter when you have a Mustang that was manufactured from 2005 to 2008. Verify with your auto supply store the correct model of filter for your year of Mustang.
- 6). Place the lid back on the air filter compartment. Secure the lid by fastening the screws or the clips that hold it in place.
