How to Build a Cage for Pole Beans

    • 1). Pound the T-posts into the ground around one or two pole bean plants, positioning them in four corners to make a square-shaped cage approximately 4 inches away from the plants. Pound the stakes about 4 inches into the soil.

    • 2). Unroll the garden fencing around the T-posts, starting at the outside edge of one T-post. Attach the garden fencing to each T-post at the top and bottom of the posts using the nylon ties. Pull the fencing around each T-post until you come around again to your starting point at the first T-post.

    • 3). Cut off the garden fencing with the bolt cutter where it wraps around the first T-post the last time.

    • 4). Attach the end of the garden fencing to the same T-post with the nylon ties at the top and bottom of the T-post to finish the cage for the pole beans.
