    Natural Spray

    • For individuals concerned with the harmful side effects of herbicides, there are natural poison ivy spray options. An effective, natural poison ivy killer consists of three ingredients: 1 cup of salt, 4 teaspoons of liquid detergent and 1 gallon of white vinegar. Pour the vinegar and the salt in a pan and heat the liquid to fully dissolve the salt. Add the 4 teaspoons of detergent to the mixture. The vinegar is a strong acid that eats away at the root system and the salt dries out the plant's cellular walls. The detergent also acts as a killer for the poison ivy. The spray will kill nearly all types of vegetation.
