How to Wire a Pioneer KE-1818 in a Ford Truck
- 1). Remove the old radio. Insert the Ford radio removal keys into the slots on the sides. Push the keys in until they lock into place. Pull on the keys to drag the radio out of the dashboard housing. Disconnect the wire harness and radio antenna cable from the back of the radio.
- 2). Connect the wire harness -- the connection containing the speaker wires, power wire and ground wire -- coming out of the Ford truck dash to a wire harness adapter. Push the connections together until they lock into place.
- 3). Connect the wire harness of the KE-1818 to the other end of the wire harness adapter. Push the connections together until they lock into place.
- 4). Plug the thick black radio antenna cable into the radio antenna port, located on the left hand side of the back of the KE-1818.
- 5). Push all the wiring into the dashboard. Follow it in with the KE-1818 head unit, taking care not to catch any of the wiring. Reconnect the vehicle battery. Test the installation by turning on the Pioneer radio.
