    • 1). Put on your gloves. Dilute ammonia or detergent in a bucket of warm water. Dip your sponge in the bucket and begin scrubbing the drum, starting with the inside and moving to the outside. Clean the drum the best you can with the cleaning solution before moving on to Step 2.

    • 2). Rinse the drum inside and out with warm water to remove all traces of ammonia or detergent.

    • 3). Wipe clean any greasy or oily spots using a scouring pad and a de-greaser solution. Scrub until the greasy spots are gone, then rinse with warm water.

    • 4). Dry the drum inside and out with a soft, dry towel.

    • 5). Polish the drum, beginning with the inside and moving to the outside with your soft rag and stainless steel cleaner.
