Remove red food matter by scraping it up with a spoon. Wipe the food into a paper towel and continue to scrape off the food substance until you're left with the dye stain. Press paper towels into the fabric to wick out excess stain liquid. - 2). Pour 1 quart cool water into a bucket. Stir in 1/2 tsp. dishwashing detergent and 1 tbsp. ammonia. Allow the red-dye-stained fabric to soak in the ammonia solution for 15 minutes to loosen and remove the stain.

Lift the fabric out of the bucket and scrub the backside of the stain with a clean cloth. Dunk the fabric in and out of the ammonia solution and scrub for another minute. Return the fabric to the bucket and allow it to soak for another 15 minutes. - 4). Rinse the fabric with cool water to flush out red dye stain. If any stain remains, soak the fabric for 30 minutes in a mixture made from 1 quart water and 1 tbsp. white vinegar.
- 5). Launder the fabric using laundry detergent and oxygen bleach to remove any last traces of red dye stain. Check the clothing to make sure all stain has been removed prior to placing it in the dryer. If any stain remains on the clothes, soak it in a bucket with 1 gallon water and 1/2 cup oxygen bleach for half an hour before laundering it again.
