How to Paint Gauge Bezels
- 1). Remove the headlight switch panel from the dash using only your hands. If you find that your switch panel is screwed on, use a screwdriver to loosen it. Push the button to disconnect the electrical connector, effectively freeing the panel for complete removal.
- 2). Remove the center dash panel by removing the screws with a screwdriver. Disconnect any electrical connectors just as you did in the first step.
- 3). Remove the gauge trim bezel by removing the screws with a screwdriver.
- 4). Remove the gauge cluster by removing the screws with a screwdriver. Disconnect any electrical connectors as you did in previous steps.
- 5). Remove the torx screws on the back of the cluster holding.
- 6). Remove the plastic shield, and take out the gauge bezel.
- 7). Clean the surface with aerosol wax remover.
- 8). Abrade the surface by sanding it with 120-grit sandpaper.
- 9). Wash the surface with dish soap, and rinse thoroughly. Allow the surface to dry completely before continuing.

Lay the gauge bezel on newspaper. Coat the surface with a light coat of spray primer. Allow the surface to dry for 2 hours. - 11
Smooth the dried primer with 80-grit sandpaper. - 12
Apply spray paint to the bezel in the same manner as you did the primer. - 13
Allow the surface to dry for 2 hours.
