What to Use to Clean Chrome Shower Fixtures
- If the chrome shower fixtures are dirty or have a layer of soap scum, spray foaming bathroom cleaner onto them and let it set for 10 minutes, then wipe off. You may have to repeat this if they are really dirty.
- If you don't want to use harsh chemicals to clean the chrome fixtures, pour some baby shampoo onto a wet towel or sponge and wipe the fixtures down, then rinse them off. An added bonus of this method is that the baby shampoo acts a soap scum deterrent.
- For a clean citrus smell in the bathroom, cut a lemon in half and rub the chrome fixtures with the lemon halves, then rinse the fixtures off. Not only will this clean the fixtures, it makes the fixtures unfavorable for the growth of mildew and mold.
- A dab of toothpaste can be used to clean the fixtures. To do this, just place a dab on the fixture, rub it around the fixture with a wet towel or sponge and rinse the fixture off.
- Mix 1 cup vinegar with 1 quart of water and spray on the fixtures. Wipe it with a wet towel and rinse thoroughly to add a shine to the chrome.
- Rub a dryer sheet over the chrome fixtures to make them shine and add a protective coating on the fixtures that will help to repel water. You can also do this to dry the fixtures off after each use, which will help prevent rusting.
