How to Unlock GE Oven Doors With an F4 Code
- 1). Attempt to reset the range to unlock the door. Turn off the range breaker in your service panel and allow it to remain off for at least five minutes. Restore power to the range and attempt to open the door.
- 2). Attempt to restart the self-clean cycle, if possible and if the door does not unlock after resetting the range. Cancel the self-clean cycle after allowing it to run for approximately 15 minutes.
- 3). Pull the range away from the wall, and then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet if neither of those steps allow you to unlock the door.
- 4). Remove the screws securing the upper rear panel of the oven using a screwdriver, and then remove the rear panel.
- 5). Locate the door-latch motor, which is positioned on either the left or right side of the rear of the range, depending on the model.
- 6). Rotate the motor by hand, ensuring that the rod running to the front of the range moves with the motor, unlocking the door.
- 7). Ensure that the range remains unplugged before testing and replacing the oven sensor.
