Arrow ‘An Innocent Man' Review
Oliver realizes he needs to change. To overcome the person he has become. In the last episode he had confided in Digg whose reaction to his secret persona only created another personal alarm.
There is a fine line between the hero and the criminal and Arrow's intentions to aid Peter Declan and his seeking help form Dinah reminds Oliver of this.
It the Declan case that quelled Ollie's righteousness and illustrated the fine line between staying within the law and outside of it. Oliver keeps on emphasizing the roots of Green Arrow and upholding the case of the "little guys" (much like the Green Arrow in Justice League: Unlimited). Diggle calls him a murderer at the beginning but Ollie is nevertheless set upon righting the evil wrought by those in power at Starling City. And this includes his own father. Digg feels that hat Ollie does not fully appreciate the situation in which he finds himself.. There is a disconnect here with Ollie seeing himself as a crusader and Digg seeing a green eared vigilante .
Digg does not like to war as it goes against his grain. Ollie proves him right. In the flashbacks we see him kill a chicken and later we see how he responds when the attacked Dinah and we get ti see avery different man. One who is not at ease with himself but simultaneously trying to rid Starling city of demons. Ollie no longer has an appetite to kill without remorse. This has lost him a partner in Dinah. She has acknowledged to Arrow that that the law has failed to protect. Ollie's anger shocks Dinah and shows up that his idea of delivering justice may bot be suited to the needs of Starling City even if they had worked fine on the island.
By the end of the episode Digg agrees to partner with Ollie. This is likely to cause friction between the two alpha males as they hold distinct views on how to treat the criminal power mongers. Hopefully this will result in Ollie getting rid of a few of his inner demons.
Is it too early in the day for Quentin to find out about Ollie's nocturnal activities. He has viewed the video footage of the past episode and if he arrests Oliver this could result in either losing a possible story line or result in something more intriguing.
The alternative storyline had Walter taking help from the charming Felicity Smoke to get to a $2.6 million accounting mistake. He finds himself in a warehouse called LLC Moira with the remains of the Queen's Gambit. Not good.
We also find John Barrowman is the mystery limo man that Moira has been meeting, He is unhappy that Arrow is out to get all the rich people.
