" The premise of the show is that the team goes to some of the most messy and cluttered homes, mainly in the California area, and cleans out the clutter.
They then hold a yard sale to raise funds to redo the interior of the home.
They generally have a project budget in mind and reveal that budget during the yard sale.
Then, Niecy Nash matches up tot he first $1,000.
So, sometimes they are well over budget and sometimes they are well under, which adds to the drama.
Clean House is more than just a show about house cleaning, though.
It often fixes rifts between couples sleeping in separate beds or parents and children.
Many times people have been so displaced by their clutter that they're sleeping on couches and chairs for months or years.
The team comes in and straighten out not just the physical mess, but also the emotional mess.
Clean House is a favorite show of mine because it's family-friendly and accomplishes a lot of great things.
It can also teach entire families the value of organization and communication.
Of course, it also doesn't hurt that the team is funny and entertaining to watch, either.
