Folding Attic Ladder Instructions
- 1). Pull down on the handle slowly. The handle should be located on one end of the hatch of the folding ladder. You might need a ladder to reach it if you are not tall enough. If you do not have a handle, you can screw an eye bolt to the end of the ladder door. Then screw a hook onto the end of a wooden dowel. Use the hook on the end of the dowel to hook the eye bolt and pull the hatch down.
- 2). Make sure the hatch is all the way open by letting go to see if it starts to move back up toward the ceiling.
- 3). Grab the bottom rung of the ladder and tug. The ladder should lift up from the door and move toward you. Pull slowly downward. The ladder will unfold itself.
- 4). Pull on the ladder until it is completely unfolded and touching the ground. Press on the center of the ladder to insure that it is locked in position before attempting to use it.
- 5). Pull on the hinge bars that keep the ladder locked in a straight position. They will bend. You can now fold the ladder back up.
- 6). Lift the bottom of the ladder up to start the folding process. Keep pushing up until the ladder is folded back on top of the hatch.
- 7). Push on the hatch to move it back into the ceiling.
