How to Install Hardwood Floor Subfloors
- 1). Lay a sheet of plywood in any corner of the room, with the long side of the sheet running along the longest wall. Leave a 3/8 inch space at sides of the board by the the walls.
- 2). Drive in screws about every six inches throughout the surface of the board. Make sure the screw heads are sunk.
- 3). Set the rest of the first course of plywood sheets in place, end to end, leaving 3/8th inch of space along the wall while butting the boards tightly together.
- 4). Cut the last sheet to fit, using your circular saw.
- 5). Lay the next row of boards so the ends of the boards are staggered between rows.
- 6). Repeat, covering the whole floor.
