    Game Room

    • Turn your garage into a game room with a few simple fixes that won't break the bank. Clean out the space and remove any grease, dirt or grime from the ceiling, walls and floor. Seal any cracks around the garage door and hang heavy drapery along the length of the inside of the door to cover it. Give the room personality with coordinating color on the walls. Cover the concrete floor with rubber tiles for style and durability. Add a ping pong table or a pool table on one side of the garage/game room with television gaming systems set up on the other side, complete with comfy sofas and chairs. Hang a light over the pool table and place lamps around the rest of the room.

    Media Room

    • Transform your garage into a media room that becomes part of your home's living area. This remodeling project is more involved as you need to remove the garage door and build an exterior wall to enclose the room. Take the opportunity to add windows to your new wall to bring more light into the room. Purchase light-blocking drapes to cover all of the windows in your media room so that you have the option to enjoy movies during the day. Install a projector and hang a movie screen or purchase a large flat screen television. Lay carpet tiles on the floor and select recliners and tables for your viewing audience. Depending on the size of your garage, you can also include a small eating area with a wet bar and a popcorn machine set away from the theater area. Select a '50s diner theme with black and white floor tiles, lots of chrome and swivel bar stools.

    Craft Room

    • Enclose your garage and remodel it into a craft room. Add a bank of windows on the new wall for added light; line storage cabinets with counter space along two of the walls; and place two or three tables for individual crafts such as sewing, stained glass or mosaic tile work. Carpet tile flooring works great for a craft room as it is comfortable and durable, and offers the flexibility to replace individual tiles if a project gets out of hand. Include a television for instructional videos and a comfortable place to relax and think about your next idea.
