Cobra Snow Country Installation Instructions
- 1). Measure the ridge from one end of the house to the other. Run a tape measure across the entire area and record the measurement to determine how many 4-foot pieces of ridge vent will be needed for the installation. Inspect the shingles to make sure they are properly installed and that there are no nails sticking up along the top of the roof.
- 2). Lay out the first piece of ridge vent at either end of the roof with the vented side facing down. Attach the vent in place through the pre-drilled holes with 2-inch roofing nails. Insert a nail into each hole through the plywood sheathing underneath to secure the ridge vent in place.
- 3). Butt the second piece up to the first and install it in the same manner. Continue down the ridge of the roof, hammering the ridge vents in place until reaching the end of the roof.
- 4). Cut the final piece of ridge vent with a utility knife, if necessary to fit at the end of the ridge. Score the vent with a utility knife at the desired location and break it into two pieces. Install the final piece just as the previous pieces were installed with the end that was not cut facing the outside.
- 5). Run a bead of silicone sealant over the last vent that was cut to make sure it is securely in place. Inspect the vents to make sure that they are all properly nailed down and that there are no nails sticking up.
