Best Way to Clean Maple Cabinets

    Clean

    • Fill a bucket with hot water and an oil soap product, such as Murphy's Oil Soap. Use a soft cleaning cloth and thoroughly dust off the cabinets. Rinse the cloth or a sponge in the cleaning solution and wring it out. Wipe down the cabinets, starting at the top and working your way down. This will prevent any streaking.

If there are any really dirty spots, use a clean cloth to apply a little of the oil soap. Scrub the spots as needed.

    Rinse

    • Empty your bucket of cleaning solution and fill it with clean, warm water. Use fresh cleaning cloths or sponges. Dip one or the other into the clean water and wring out. Wipe down the cabinets, working from top to bottom, until the entire area has been rinsed. If you see any residue from the oil soap, repeat the rinsing process.

    • Once the maple cupboards have thoroughly dried, pour a little furniture polishing oil on a clean rag and rub it into the cupboards. This will bring out the luster of the maple, and protect the wood from future dirt and grease.

Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and clean the hardware and knobs on all the cabinet doors for added shine.
