How to Run the XP Repair and Reinstallation
- 1). Turn on your computer, put the installation CD in, then restart the computer.
- 2). Press the "F12," "ESC," "DEL" or other specified key on the boot screen that opens the "Boot Menu," then select your CD drive as the drive you wish to boot from.
- 3). Press any key on your keyboard when the "Press any key" message appears, then wait for the welcome screen to appear before pressing "Enter" then "F8."
- 4). Use your up and down arrow keys to select your XP operating system, then press "R" once the operating system is selected. This starts the repair installation, which can take 30 to 40 minutes to finish.
