How to Convert DMG for Windows
- 1). Create a folder at the root level of your hard drive - usually "C:" - called "dmg2img." Do this by clicking "Start," then "Computer" or "My Computer," then double-clicking the "C:" drive and clicking "File" -> "New Folder."
- 2). Download dmg2img from the link in "Resources." Double-click the downloaded ZIP file to open it, and drag the contents into the dmg2img file you created.
- 3). Click "Start," then "Run." Type:
c:\dmg2img\dmg2img.exe -i [c:\oldimage.dmg] -o [c:\newimage.img]
Replace the two bracketed parts with the actual location of the DMG image (for example, "c:\documents\image.dmg") and the desired location of the new image. Do not include the brackets. If you don't know the DMG image's precise path (if it's on the Desktop, the path may be long and complex), it may be quickest to just drag it into the C:\ folder and convert it from there. - 1). Download and install MagicISO using the link in "Resources." Start the program.
- 2). Click the "Open" button (the picture of the opening file) on the toolbar. In the dialog box that appears, select the DMG file.
- 3). Click the "Properties" button (the picture of the page with a red checkmark, three buttons to the right of "Open").
- 4). Select the "ISO" tab. Uncheck the "Apple HFS" and/or "Apple HSF+" boxes, and check "ISO 9660," "Joliet," and "UDF." Click "OK" to exit the Properties window.
- 5). Click "Save As" (two buttons to the right of "Open") and save your new ISO file anywhere you like.
