    • 1). Click "Start" and "Run."

    • 2). Type "cmd." Press "Enter."

    • 3). Type "chkdsk x: /f /r" and press "Enter." Replace "x" with the letter of the drive containing the broken software files. This is usually the C drive.

    • 4). Press "Y" and restart your computer. The PC's software files will be repaired after you boot up.
