How to Set Up Windows Media Center to Receive HD Channels

    • 1). Launch Media Center by clicking on the "Start" menu, "Programs" and then "Media Center."

    • 2). Select "TV" and then "Setup TV Signal." Click "Next" to begin setting up the TV signal.

    • 3). Click "Yes" and then click on "NTSC" or "PAL" as the region. Your computer should already be set to the correct region. Select "Next."

    • 4). Click "Configure my TV signal automatically" and then click "Next." Media Center will now scan for antenna signals. Once it has picked up the antenna signal click on "Yes" and then "Next" to continue.

    • 5). Click on "Yes" to use the Windows Media Center TV guide.

    • 6). Click "Agree" when the service agreement pops up and then click "Next."

    • 7). Type in your zip code and click "Next." Windows Media Center will download the correct TV guide for your area.

    • 8). Click on the box next to each channel that indicates that the signal is low. This will remove those channels and keep the high-quality and high-definition channels.

    • 9). Click "Next" and then click "Done." You have now set up Windows Media Center to receive high-definition channels.
