How to Use an Apple Cinema Screen With a PC

    Check Compatibility

    • 1). Visit the Apple support site for running Apple Cinema Display screens on windows.

    • 2). Check your graphics card against the models listed.

    • 3). Check the specifications of your graphics card. If it supports "full single link" and/or "dual link" support, then it should still be compatible with the Apple Cinema Display.

    Connect the monitor to the graphics card

    • 1). Plug in the DVI connector to your PC's graphics card and to the DVI in of the Apple Cinema Display.

    • 2). Turn on the computer and the display.

    • 3). From the desktop, right-click on an empty space to bring up the "Display Properties," the click on "settings."

    • 4). Look at the settings, there should be two monitors represented as blue rectangles with numbers inside them, monitor number 1 and monitor number 2. You may have to activate the new monitor by right clicking it, then clicking "Attached."

    • 5). Select the arrangement of monitors you desire. You can extend one monitor over two, or have the two operate separately. You can change the display resolution of both monitors independently from here.
