How to Update the Group Policy in Vista
- 1). Press the "Windows" symbol key and "R" on the keyboard to open the "Run" console.
- 2). Type "gpmc.msc" without the quotation marks and press "Enter."
- 3). Expand the "Forest" container, then expand the "Domain" container followed by the "Domain Object" container of interest.
- 4). Right click on the "Group Policy Objects" heading and select "New."
- 5). Name the new Group Policy Object and click "OK."
- 6). Right click on the new Group Policy Object and select "Edit" to open the editor.
- 7). Choose the desired settings and save the new Group Policy Object.
- 8). Open the "Start" menu and type "cmd" without the quotation marks in the search field.
- 9). Right click on the "Command Prompt" icon and choose "Run as Administrator."

Type "gpupdate/force" without the quotation marks and press "Enter" to update to the new Group Policy.
