How to Design a Blue Nile Engagement Ring
- 1). Go to bluenile.com. Under the "Engagement" tab, select "Build Your Own Ring".
- 2). Click on "1. Select Your Diamond". This will take you to a page to choose a diamond. Under the "Shape" section, select a shape, or several shapes. When the shape appears in blue, it is selected. When the shape appears in gray, it is not selected. Click on a shape to change its status.
- 3). Move the sliders in the other sections to select ranges for the number of carats, color, price, cut quality, and clarity. The choices for the color range from J to D, with D being the highest color grade. The choices for the cut quality range from Fair to Signature Ideal. The clarity choices range from SI2 to FL, with FL being the highest clarity grade. These categories will narrow down the list of diamonds.
- 4). Choose a diamond from the list. Click "View" on your chosen diamond, then "Add to Ring". This will take you to a page to choose a setting for your diamond.
- 5). Use the slider to select a price range for the setting. Choose a metal. Available metals are platinum, gold and white gold. Choose a style for the setting. Available styles are classic, vintage, color and sidestone. These categories will narrow down the list of settings.
- 6). Choose a setting from the list. Click on the image, then click "Select this style". This will take you to a page to finalize your ring choice. On this screen, you can also change your choices for the diamond and the setting by clicking "Change" under the appropriate category.
- 7). Choose a size for the ring from the "Select Your Size" drop-down menu. Your ring is now complete.
