How to Stop Link Redirects
- 1). Click on the Windows "Start" button, found in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
- 2). Click "Control Panel" from the list of options. A new window appears on your screen.
- 3). Click the "Network and Internet" heading, then click "Internet Options." A new window pops open.
- 4). Click the "Advanced" tab.
- 5). Scroll the "Settings" field until you find the Security heading.
- 6). Click to enable the following check boxes: "Use SSL 2.0," "Use SSL 3.0," "Warn about security certificate mismatch" and "Warn if changing between secure and non-secure mode." When an online link misrepresents itself and redirects to a different site, a warning will appear on screen, letting you deny the redirect action.
- 7). Click "OK" to save your changes.
