How to Reduce Clock Speed
- 1). Turn on the computer. Press the "Delete" key as soon as the computer starts booting to enter the BIOS menu.
- 2). Locate the menu for the CPU settings. This menu may be under such titles as "JumperFree Configuration" or "Frequency/Voltage Control." Consult the motherboard's manual. The location of this setting will vary depending on the motherboard.
- 3). Locate the CPU clock setting, which usually will be called "CPU Operating Speed." Press "Enter." Lower the value of the number to underclock the computer's CPU.
- 4). Press "F10" to save the settings and reboot the computer.
