    • 1). Click the "Start" button. Type "taskmgr" in the "Search" dialog box and press "Enter." This opens the Windows Task Manager. Open the "Processes" tab and select "wgatray.exe." Click the "End Process" button.

    • 2). Restart your PC. Tap "F8" continuously until the advanced boot menu displays. Scroll down to "Safe mode" and press "Enter."

    • 3). Click "Start" and paste "C:\Windows\System32" in the "Search" field. Press "Enter." This will open the System32 folder. Right click the "wgatray.exe" file and click "Delete." Exit the window. Launch the Recycle Bin and select "Empty the Recycle Bin."

    • 4). Press "r" plus the "Windows" key at the same time. Paste "regedit" in the "Open" field and click "OK." This opens the Registry Editor.

    • 5). Navigate the registry path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicrosoftWindows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify" on the left side of the pane. For example, expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder and then expand the "Microsoft" folder and so on.

    • 6). Right click the "WgaLogon" folder at the end of the registry path and click "Delete." Exit the Registry Editor. Restart your PC. Make sure the WGA notifications no longer appear.
