How to Hook Up the Curtis 5.1 Channel 150-Watt Home Theater System

    • 1). Arrange the five speakers in the room so that two of them flank the TV set and a third is set above or below the television. These are the left and right front speakers and the center channel. Set the remaining two speakers behind your seating area at head level. Place the subwoofer on the floor near the Curtis receiver.

    • 2). Connect the red and black strands on each speaker wire to the positive and negative terminals to their respective colors on the back of each speaker.

    • 3). Hook up the other end of each wire to the labeled terminal for the corresponding speaker on the back of the Curtis receiver. For example, connect the center speaker wire to the "Center" terminals on the receiver to the matching color.

    • 4). Hook up a video cable from one of the video outputs on the back of the Curtis receiver to a matching video input on the back of the TV. Your cable choices on the Curtis receiver include composite, S-video and component. Use any cable that matches with an available jack on your TV.

    • 5). Plug in the power cords for the receiver and subwoofer.
