How to Store Data on an SD Card on a Phone
- 1). Navigate to your phone manufacturer's website. Download the USB drivers for the phone to your computer.
- 2). Click "Start," "Computer." Open the folder where you saved the driver file for your phone. Double-click the file and follow the on-screen prompts to install the driver in Windows. Restart your PC if prompted to do so.
- 3). Connect the USB data cable to the phone and the computer. Wait for Windows to detect the SD card inside the phone as a removable storage device. With some phones, you might have to push a key to enable the device as a mass storage device after you connect the USB data cable.
- 4). Navigate to the folder on your PC that contains the data you want to save on the phone. Right-click the filename, then click "Copy" on the pop-up menu.
- 5). Navigate to the drive letter for the phone in Windows Explorer. Right-click inside the SD card folder window, then click "Paste" on the pop-up menu. Windows copies the file to the phone. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
- 1). Connect the USB card reader to the computer. Wait for Windows to detect and initialize the device.
- 2). Remove the SD card from the phone and insert it into the card reader. Wait for Windows to configure the SD card as a removable drive on your PC.
- 3). Open the folder with the files you want to store on the phone's SD card. Highlight the files, then click "Edit," "Copy" on the menu bar.
- 4). Open the drive folder for the SD card in Windows Explorer. Right-click anywhere inside the drive folder in Windows Explorer, then click "Paste." Windows copies the files to the SD card on the phone.
- 5). Reinsert the SD card into the phone.
