IPhone 5 8MP Camera Discussed by Sony CEO
Although we all are well aware of the rumors floating around the internet that the iPhone 5 will have 8MP camera and we had given complete info-graphical information about the upcoming iPhone 5 in our previous post. Whether it is about Apple's new upcoming product or any updates in the iOS, Apple always keep a light lid on the new developments. Contemporary rumors about iPhone 5 are just the analysis of the professionals, but for Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple.inc, it is quite exasperating to see such rumors around the market about the shape and specs of iPhone 5, unless he announce the new product by himself. Therefore, we have not yet heard anything about iPhone 5 from Apple.
At the event of Talking Tech, Stringer was speaking even with Walt Mossberg from The Wall Street Journal, he discussed that how the recent Japan Tsunami had crashed one of the Sony's camera sensor manufacturing providers. 9to5 Mac was there at the event and stated the following comment from the CEO:
One of our best sensor technology factories is affected by the Tsunami in Japan Earthquake. And that factory was making the camera sensors for Apple for their iPhone or iPad's. Isn't that something? They buy best sensors from us?
Although he did not specifically mention the 8MP specification for iPhone 5, but we all are very well aware of the rumors floating for some time now, that Apple was in communication with Sony about the camera sensors. Current iPhone 4 is with the 5MP sensor camera from Omni Vision and while Apple may part ways with them for the next loop for the iPhone 5, but there is no denotation as if they will do so on other products that use cameras.
There have been news in the rumors about the iPhone 5 delay, it was like the iPhone5 will be delayed until this fall, or maybe possibly 2012, it seems perhaps possible because it has to do with the lack of the needed camera sensor. While most are evaluating these are the reasons, and such rumors about the delay have been all around for some time now.
Some other rumors about iPhone 5 are also can be seen floating around like iPhone 5 metal black large screen, and we can also now expect the back 8MP camera since Sir Stringer's apparent slip of tongue. Odds are it is but still we should take it as a grain of salt for the time being for the specs, but as far as the Sony making them, that seems to be real then!
