Blendtec fans were likely to see a familiar sight while watching the latest Avengers movie: Not long into The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) pours a batch of smoothies out of the Blendtec WildSide+ Jar for the injured Hawkeye and some of the other Avenger team members. Apparently the Blendtec Designer 725 was part of the set at Avengers HQ, although if you blink you might miss it!

It makes sense that the tech-savvy Stark would have the 725 in his arsenal. It’s got a capacitive touchscreen, a 100-speed touch slider control, six preprogrammed cycles (for smoothies, salsa, ice cream, whole juice, hot soup, and a cleaning cycle), and a countdown timer. It even tracks how many times you use the blender, and gives you reward codes when you hit certain milestones, which you can use towards free recipe booklets, utensils, or discounts.

In honor of Blendtec’s star turn in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Blendtec had a sweepstakes in which it gave away three Blendtec Designer 725, and made a special edition of the cult-favorite video series, “Will It Blend” in which founder Tom Dickson investigates whether the Blendtec blender can take on Captain America’s Vibranium shield, Thor’s hammer and the Hulk.
