The teenage years of our daughter can be one of the most exciting period in her life and as parents, we should jump in there and enjoy it with her.
By so doing, it will not only help to build our relationship with her, but it will also help her in becoming a productive citizen of our society.
Several things that we can do with her are: Church There is nothing like going to Church (Assembly Meetings) with our teenage daughter.
Some parents would make sure that their child is attending church every week, but, they themselves do not go and while this is commendable, sharing our faith with her is an excellent thing to do.
Additionally, spending time in devotion with her is also an extension of this.
Drive - Thru If we are into eating fast food, taking her through a Drive - Thru occasionally can also be a stepping stone in our relationship.
This may seem like an ordinary act and indeed, it is, because doing things that are a part of our lives is what relationship building is all about.
However, throwing in things that are not "everyday happenings" occasionally also has its place.
Make A Meal It's also a good idea to choose a day that we can prepare a meal together and starting from the beginning would make it even more enjoyable.
That is, decide on the meal together, perhaps a three course meal, purchasing the ingredients and then cooking it.
If we are open to trying new foods, we can choose dishes from a region in which we had once or twice visited or a place in which we would like to visit.
Set the table with the plates, glasses and so on and enjoy it.
Do A Project We can work together on many projects and one such project is making a book of memories with the photos that were taken on the last family vocation.
Additionally, making a time capsule at this stage in her life is a good idea because it would be wonderful for us to open it years down the line to see how things have changed and what was important in both of our lives at this time.
Make A Website Since we can sign up for a free website on the Internet, all we have to do is to decide on what the site I going to be all about and take it from there.
This will not only give her the opportunity to be on the Internet and a good project for us to work on, but it will also give her the opportunity to be creative and it will also help to build her self esteem.
As we think over these things and as we come up with other ideas, let's aim at doing things that she is motivated to do, although, sometimes it may take a bit of a nudging to get her going.
