  Malad City, often referred to as Malad, is one of the oldest communities in southeast Idaho near the Idaho-Utah border. Named after the neighboring Malad River, Malad is known for it's natural outdoor beauty. Malad is home to park of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest and is 16 miles west of the Curlew National Grassland. The only bar within the town's limits is Critters Lounge, but there are other bars and taverns in Lava Hot Springs, roughly 50 miles away.

• Critters is a small cocktail lounge in the heart of Malad City that operates with just three employees. It's located a few blocks west of the Oneida County Courthouse and the Oneida Pioneer Museum.

Blue Moon Bar & Grill

• Located in Lava Hot Springs, a town 50 miles northeast of Malad City, Blue Moon Bar & Grill serves cocktails and beer. Blue Moon Bar & Grill also hosts bingo and live music on the weekend. The venue is adorned with a wood-accented interior and has a low-key, casual atmosphere. Patrons are permitted to smoke at the bar.

Wagon Wheel Lounge

• The Wagon Wheel Lounge is located in Lava Hot Springs, roughly 50 miles northeast of Malad City. Wagon Wheel Lounge, family-owned and operated for four generations, offers a full-service bar seven days a week. Every Wednesday night, the venue hosts "Wii Night" with Karaoke and Comedy Shows on Thursday night. Wagon Wheel Lounge also has a DJ every Friday and Saturday night.
