How to Remove the Clean Registry Message
- 1). Download SmitFraudFix (see Resources section for link). Save it to your Desktop so that it is easily accessible in a future step.
- 2). Reboot your computer by going to "Start > Shutdown > Restart."
- 3). Boot your computer into Safe Mode by pressing the "F8" key repeatedly at the first screen after the computer reboots. Select "Safe Mode" from the "Boot Options" menu that appears.
- 4). Log on in Safe Mode as yourself rather than the default Administrator account that also appears.
- 5). Double-click the SmitFraudFix.exe icon on your Desktop. Press any key on the keyboard to proceed with SmitFraudFix.
- 6). Press the "2" key on your keyboard to select the "Clean" option from the options menu that appears. Then press "Enter."
- 7). Press the "Y" key on your keyboard when asked "Do you want to clean the registry? (y/n)." After this completes, the computer will reboot and Registry Cleaner will be fully removed from the PC.
