How to Make Knitted Wristlets
- 1). Cast on 36 stitches on the larger double-pointed needles, or DPNs. Join the stitches into a round--be sure not to twist the stitches.
- 2). Put a stitch marker on the right-hand needle to mark the beginning of the round.
- 3). Knit two stitches, purl two stitches. Repeat this ribbing pattern for the round.
- 4). Work four more rounds in the ribbing pattern.
- 5). Start knitting with the smaller DPNs and change to a stockinette pattern--knitting every stitch, every round, until the wristlet is about 2 inches long from the cast on row.
- 6). Increase in every stitch on the next round to create a ruffle. To increase, knit into the front of the stitch, the back and the front again, then slip the stitch off the needle. This is a double increase--three stitches for every one. You'll have 108 stitches at the end of the round.
- 7). Knit even for four rows. Bind off loosely. Cut the yarn, leave an 8-inch tail and weave in the ends
- 8). Repeat to make a second wristlet.
