How to Remove Silly Goo From Hair

    • 1). Put on old clothes you don't mind getting stained with oil and alcohol, or at least drape an old towel around your neck.

    • 2). Pour olive oil, baby oil or spray a non-stick cooking spray over the silly putty where it meets the hair. Wait a couple of minutes.

    • 3). Comb the putty out of your hair gently, working about a half-inch at a time.

    • 4). Pour rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer over any goo residue remaining in your hair. The alcohol will dissolve the remaining goo or silly putty. Comb your hair out to remove any last bits. Make sure to treat the comb with the rubbing alcohol as well, to make sure you're not just re-combing bits of goo back into your hair.

    • 5). Wash your hair thoroughly--in fact you'll probably want a shower because the goo-removal process tends to be messy. Those with very fine hair may need more than one thorough shampooing to remove any leftover oil residue.
