Video: How to Set Foundation Makeup
Video Transcript
When you're wearing a heavier foundation, you're definitely going to want to set it so it stays all day, especially when you have a foundation that has an oil base or a cream base. The best way to do that is to take a loose powder and a sponge, and we're actually going to press the powder into the skin. So, you can see I'm layering on quite a bit of powder here, and I'm pressing all over. Now, not too much around the eye area, because you don't want the powder to settle in the fine lines. But, this is going to set your foundation, so you want to go all the way around the face, pressing in quite a bit of the powder, and you'll see that it gets absorbed into the powder as we go. And we're not moving, we're not swiping the sponge downward; just pressing. So, we're not moving the foundation, and where we've applied it, and once we have done a nice heavy layer all over, then we're going to take a large powder brush and we're just going to sweep off the excess. And this just gives her a beautiful, flawless look to her skin, and it will be set all day. It won't go anywhere. Oh, that's beautiful. Look at that, perfect! Now, one other thing you can do to make your makeup last longer and to set it is by using a setting spray. Several companies make theirs. This is Model in a Bottle. With just a few squirts after you've applied your makeup it will set your makeup and let it last all day. And, I'm Kelly Machbitz, your Tampa Bay beauty expert.
