Hi, I'm Linda Facci at Facci Designs, and today I'm going to show you a tutorial on felt bread slices. So this is what they're going to look like. Now I've already made a sandwich out of mine and I actually made one with a bite in it but I'm going to show you one that doesn't have a bite. So here I have a template for a slice of bread. I just free handed this. You're going to trace this on to your felt. Now I have a piece of bread here and looks more like wheat but you can make any color you'd like. White bread, a dark bread. So I happen to eat a wheat bread so I have a light brown color for the top of the bread. I'm tracing my template on my felt. And now I'm going to fold this in half because we're going to need two slices and cut two at a time. So you've got to cut that around. And you cut that out and then you're going to need a dark brown for the crust. So here I have my two slices of bread. So for the crust you're going to need a dark brown and depending on your size felt if you're using a craft felt it usually doesn't come long enough. So you're going to cut a strip about a quarter of an inch wide and you may have to sew two pieces together. I just make it extra long and then cut it when I'm sewing it to the bread. So here I have my brown strip. So you're going to sew this brown strip to the top slice of your bread. OK so this is what I've done here. So that's sewn around there. Then you're going to sew the other slice of bread to that crust. And here I've already started one. So now I've sewn this second piece to the crust. And before you finish it you have to stuff it. So I have some batting here. And I stuff that. I also use an embroidery floss for my felt projects and usually the floss comes in six strands but I like to divide it up and use two to three strands for my project depending on what it is. OK so we have our bread stuffed here. Make sure you get it in to all the corners and you want to kind of even it out. Sometimes you can even put this piece back in there to make it flatter. OK. And now you just sew it closed with a simple hemming stitch. And once you have your bread slice finished, going to knot that, make another one, make a sandwich and fill it up with stuff. Fill it up with some felted Swiss cheese or a tomato. Have fun. I think the kids will really have fun making felt sandwiches. I'm Linda Facci of Facci designs and I hope you enjoyed my tutorial on felt bread slices. Bye bye.
