How to Jailbreak an iPod 2G
- 1). Attach the USB connector at the end of the iPod cable to a USB port on a computer. Attach the other end of the iPod cable to the connection slot at the bottom of the iPod Touch 2G.
- 2). Launch a web browser by selecting it from the "Start," "All Applications" pop-up menu if using a PC, or by double-clicking the web browser's icon inside of the "Applications" folder is using a Mac.
- 3). Go to an online jailbreaking website, for example, the JailbreakMe website. Click on the "Start" button on the web page. Click on the "Yes" pop-up window button to confirm that you want to jailbreak the iPod Touch 2G.
- 4). Follow the menu commands as needed while the online jailbreaking website downloads and installs files on the iPod Touch 2G. Click on the "Reboot" button in the confirmation window that appears on the screen to state that the jailbreaking is done.
- 5). Quit the web browser. Right-click on the icon of the iPod Touch 2G that is on the desktop and select "Eject" from the pop-up window if on a PC. Drag the iPod Touch 2G's icon to the Trash if on a Mac. Remove the iPod cable from the USB port of the computer and from the connection slot on the iPod Touch 2G.
