How to Lose Hair With Hair Wrapping
- 1). Prepare your hair for wrapping while it is laden with product buildup. The dirtier your hair is, the more moisture deficient it is. This will increase your chance of losing hair to breakage.
- 2). Start combing your hair down with a rat tail, or any fine-toothed comb. Though these combs are popular for really getting wraps super sleek, they can cause increased damage to the hair during the wrapping process.
- 3). Spray wrapped hair with holding spray, hair spritz or hardening protein gel. While these products keep the wrap looking defined and polished, and even provide hold after the hair is combed down out of the wrap, these hair-stiffening products can cause delicate hair fibers to break under combing manipulation.
- 4). Comb down the wrap and apply heat to your wrapped hair. One of the worst things you can do with a wrap is to use heat to straighten it further once it has been combed out. Heat use completely undermines the point of wrapping in the first place -- to avoid excessive heat use. Heat depletes the hair's moisture content, which can lead to excessive hair loss and breakage.
