    • 1). Create a napkin window treatment. Install a thin curtain rod above your window. Use small metal rings with clips, which you can obtain from your local craft store, to hang the napkins. Clip a ring to each napkin. You may use as many napkins as you want. Clip the napkin from a corner, or fold it in half and clip it from the center. Insert the curtain rod through the metal rings, and attach the rod to its securing mechanism on the wall. This type of window treatment is appropriate for a kitchen or a dining room.

    • 2). Create a window treatment with a rectangular piece of sheer fabric. Measure the width of your window and cut your fabric twice the width of the window. Hem around the edge, and iron the fabric. Install a curtain rod. Intertwine the fabric on the curtain rod. Ensure that both sides are even.

    • 3). Consider using two matching, twin-size bed sheets for your window treatment. Insert the curtain rod through the top, wide hem on the bed sheets. Use two matching pieces of ribbon for tiebacks.

    • 4). Fold a twin-size bed sheet lengthwise. Drape the folded sheet lengthwise over the curtain rod to create a valance. Allow the front to hang just a bit longer than the back. Arrange the folds evenly for a neater appearance.
