DIY Tint Your Own Eyelashes
- 1). Remove all makeup and clean the eye area with makeup remover. Even if you are not wearing makeup, the remover will cleanse your skin of natural oils. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before continuing.
- 2). Prepare your eyelashes and skin for the tinting process. Apply petroleum jelly to your eyelids and to the skin below your bottom lash line. This will protect your skin from the dye.
- 3). Prepare the eyelash dye. Following the eyelash tinting kit directions, mix the dye cream with developer liquid.
- 4). Apply the dye mixture to your eyelashes. Kits include a wand similar to a mascara wand. Dip the wand or brush into the dye and coat your eyelashes with the dye. This process is similar to mascara application. Leave the dye on your eyelashes for the time specified on the kit directions (usually around 10 minutes).
- 5). Remove the dye. Close your eyes, then use a dampened cotton pad or cotton ball to wipe the dye off of your eyelashes. Take care not to get the dye in your eyes.
