How do I Configure iPods?
- 1). Connect the iPod you're going to configure to the computer with the USB iPod cable.
- 2). Open iTunes.
- 3). Click on the name given to the iPod or the word "iPod" found under the "Devices" option, which is inside the left column of the iTunes software.
- 4). Click the "Summary" tab positioned along the top of the middle iTunes window.
- 5). Click the box found to the left of "Manually manage music and videos." The box either gains or loses a check mark depending on the iPod's current settings. If the box gains a check mark, the iPod's setting is changed to "manual sync," meaning the iPod can be synced with multiple computers with files being removed from the device. If a check mark is removed, the iPod's setting is changed to "automatic sync" and an iTunes warning appears, explaining that all current files on the device will be deleted and replaced with files found in the iTunes library on the computer. Click "OK" to proceed.
- 6). Click "Apply" at the bottom of iTunes to finalize configuring the iPod.
