Macerator Instructions

    • 1). Screw the macerator into the drain hole of the sewage storage area that requires pumping. This is generally located on the RV's black water holding tank outflow tube. Consult your RV owner's manual if you are uncertain about the location of the outlet drain.

    • 2). Install the drain hose onto the outlet end of the macerator, and then straighten the hose out so that it has no kinks or bends. Place the other end of the hose where it can legally and safely discharge the contents of your black water tank. Your local RV dealership can tell you where you can do this.

    • 3). Plug the macerator's power cord into an electrical socket.

    • 4). Open the black water tank lever and then turn on the macerator. Once the black water tank is empty, close the black water tank lever and open the gray water tank lever. Because gray water is not sewage water, but rather the water from the RV's faucets that runs down the drain, this water will help to flush the sewage from the black water tank out of the macerator.

    • 5). Turn on the faucets of the RV and allow them to run for a few minutes to help purge the gray water tanks and further clean out the macerator. When the process is complete, shut off the water, turn off the macerator and then close the drain lever for the gray water tank.

    • 6). Connect the garden hose to the inlet of the macerator and run clean tap water through it to thoroughly clean the blades of the macerator. Once this is complete, you can disconnect the hoses and store the macerator for future use.
