My CPAP Mask Doesn"t Fit!
Are you a recent CPAP user and you are STILL not getting any sleep? This is a common problem among new users.
If all of your equipment is working properly it could be because of your mask not fitting right.
If you are constantly waking up throughout the night, then it could be because your mask is too big and is not delivering you enough air pressure.
If your mask is too big you are going to unfortunately need to get a new one.
There are many different types of masks available for you to try and for you to buy.
If you visit your doctor you can have him fit you for a new mask.
There are larger full coverage masks, smaller masks that go just in the nose or just in the mouth or smaller masks that go over both air passages without getting in the way of the rest of your face.
Keep in mind that it depends on your face shape, the way you sleep and the severity for your need of this machine.
If your mask is too tight and you are getting chafing on your nose, forehead, cheeks or chin you can try getting cushions.
Nose cushions can help you to lift the mask off of your nose to avoid blocking your passages so it won't be squished.
There are also cheek and forehead pillows that can rest comfortably on your face to ease the digging in to your skin from the edges of the mask for a better rest and no damage to your face.
You might also want to try a different strap for your head.
There are three strap models, one strap models and even chin straps available.
They are usually adjustable and machine washable.
They come in many different styles and colors too for your convenience and satisfaction.
If you are wearing your CPAP machine during the day this is more of an excuse to splurge on yourself and get something a little more visually pleasing.
Customizing a CPAP machine is a common thing to do for new and even experienced users.
No two faces are alike so it is hard for the designer to gauge the mask in such a way for t to fit every face.
That is why they have designed many different styles.
You can look into it with your doctor, local medical retailers or online for many different upgrades.
