How to Increase an iPod Audiobook's Sound
- 1). Launch iTunes, Apple's free application for listening to music and managing your iPod media. You were prompted to download and install iTunes when you first set up your iPod.
- 2). Connect your iPod to a USB port on your computer using the included USB cable. The icon of your iPod will appear under "Devices" in the left pane of the iTunes application window.
- 3). Click the "File" menu and then click "Transfer Purchases From iPod" if you have an iPod Touch and you need to sync an audiobook that you downloaded directly from the iTunes Store via Wi-Fi, but that you haven't yet copied over to your computer. The audiobook files will copy to your computer. Otherwise, click "Books" under "Library" in the left pane of the iTunes window. If the audiobook is not in the iTunes library, drag its files from a folder on your computer into the iTunes window.
- 4). Click your iPod's icon. Click the "Books" tab. Deselect the box next to the name of the audiobook whose volume is too low on your iPod. Click "Sync" to remove the audiobook from your iPod. You will put the audiobook back on your iPod after you have increased its volume on your computer using iTunes.
- 5). Click "Books" in the left pane of the iTunes window. Click on the first file of the audiobook whose volume you need to increase. Press the "Shift" key on your computer keyboard and then click the last file in the audiobook to select all the files.
- 6). Click the "File" menu and then click "Get Info." The "Multiple Item Information" panel will appear. Click the "Options" tab. Select the "Volume Adjustment" check box. Drag the "Volume Adjustment" slider to the right to increase the volume. Click "OK" to save your changes.
- 7). Click your iPod's icon. Click the "Books" tab. Select the check box next to the name of the audiobook whose volume you just increased. Click "Sync" to transfer the audiobook to your iPod.
- 8). Click the "Eject" button next to your iPod's icon after transferring the file. Disconnect your iPod from your computer.
